Frequently Asked Questions

1(Q) How does Stonerig Raceway work?

1(A) When you arrive at Stonerig Raceway you will be greeted with a warm welcome. We will ask all
customer to sanitise their hands before entering the race area. You will then be instructed haw the
tracks work and what is expected and not expected.

Staff members are there to help and assist all customers so there may be occasions you (the customer)
must put the car back on the track yourself. We are not solely assigned to one group we are there to help
all. We will ask you to sign in at the counter. This is for Fire and covid19 track and trace. Staff members will
be wearing face mask during your visit. Depending on current Government guidance regarding Covid 19
we will ask customers to where Face masks.

Depending on how long you have booked for 1 hour/2 hours on the Scalextric this is the actual time you
have racing. This means your group will have each of the tracks exclusively for a set time which will be
instructed to you at the time. Generally, 8/9 minutes per track.

3b(Q) Can we book a group of kids for a race session?

4(Q) Do I still have to pay if I am not using the tracks or simulators?

4(A) No you don’t have to pay if you are just watching the racing action. If you do start using the Scalextric
tracks or would like to go on our simulators you will have to pay. There is a maximum of 2 spectators around
the tracks. We also have a seating area to accommodate people who are not racing.

5(A) Yes

6(Q) Do you have to book?

6(A) Yes, we recommend you book you can securely book and pay for your experience online. If you do turn
up on the day without booking, we will not turn you away, but we cannot guarantee you will get on the
experiences. So, you may have to wait.

7(Q) What is Scalextric?

7(A) Scalextric / slot racing is primarily a plastic track which allows 1/32 or 1/24 scale Scalextric or Carrera
slot cars to race on a circuit. (You can hold the cars in the palm of your hand.)
The cars are controlled by a
handset which is held by you (the customer). When the trigger is pressed the cars move around the track.
In some case you can change lanes with other buttons that are on the handsets these are (digital) so you
can overtake your opponent. When you release the trigger, the car will slow down. (Highly Recommended
BEFORE you get to the corner.) Cars will and do come of the track the idea is to be able to get the car round
the track without crashing.☺ You will be instructed by a member of Stonerig Raceway on how this work.

8(Q) Can I bring my own cars to race on the tracks?

8(A) Yes you can bring your own cars but if they get damaged or broken this is your responsibility.
Stonerig Raceway is not responsible for damages.
We do supply cars on each of the tracks for you to use.

9(Q) Do we get to go on all the Scalextric tracks?

9(A) Yes if you have booked 1hour or 2 hours you will have exclusive use of each track for the time you have
booked which is generally 8 – 10 minutes per track depending on tracks available. This means the time booked
is the actual race time on the tracks so you could stop part way through for a break then pick up from where
you left off.

10(Q) Do the cars come off the tracks?

10(A) Yes

11(Q) Can we decide which tracks to go race on?

11(A) We have organised a supervised route around the venue to ensure all groups have equal use of each track.
